Visitors sharing a photo during a tourism scavenger hunt created with AdventuriQ

A couple completes a Challenge at a viewpoint. They take a photo, publish it and, seconds later, that corner of the destination appears in front of their friends and followers.

The experience no longer ends when the Player taps “Send”. The new Share on Social Media option turns an Upload Photo Challenge into a participatory tourism-promotion action.

Visitors play, create authentic content and can share it on Instagram, X or Facebook using the copy and hashtags you prepared. They then paste the publication link so your team can review it from the Game Board.

From completing a Challenge to telling the destination’s story

In a tourism scavenger hunt, every photo can be more than proof of completion. It can reveal a lesser-known viewpoint, a museum piece, a local tradition, a business or a detail visitors would normally miss.

The sharing step is activated Challenge by Challenge. Existing Upload Photo Challenges do not change until you enable it.

The Game Designer enables social sharing, prepares the copy and decides whether the link is required.

How it works for the Player

1. Create

Take or select the photo, preview it and send it to the Adventure Gallery.

2. Copy

The Webapp displays the prepared text and hashtags and copies them to the clipboard.

3. Publish

The mobile share panel lets the Player choose a network or download the image.

4. Validate

The Player pastes the publication link and continues the Adventure.

Why it fits tourism so well

  • Visitor-generated content: real people showing how they experience the destination.
  • Reach beyond the route: the Adventure appears in the Player’s social circle.
  • Visibility for secondary locations: build Challenges around places you want visitors to discover.
  • Participatory campaigns: connect publications to themed routes, local festivals, activations or giveaways.
  • Consistent storytelling: provide short copy and campaign hashtags.
  • Centralised review: inspect submitted links from the Game Board.

This does not promise automatic virality

The feature opens a path to distribution, but results still depend on campaign design: a location worth photographing, a specific instruction, copy that works outside the game and a genuine reason to share.

Review every submitted link in one place

Links appear in the Challenge’s Photo and Video Gallery block inside the Game Board. Your team can open each publication and mark it as verified or rejected.

X posts can be checked automatically for existence. Instagram and Facebook links remain pending until someone reviews them manually. Private-account publications are only visible to the Player’s followers, so make public-account requirements clear when a giveaway is involved.

Four ideas for a tourism Adventure

  1. The secret viewpoint: discover a lesser-known place and share its story.
  2. Taste the destination: photograph a local product at a market or participating business.
  3. Heritage pose: recreate a character or scene in front of a landmark.
  4. Festival in first person: complete Challenges and build a shared social mosaic of the day.

The key advice is simple: do not write “upload a photo”. Give the Player a mission they want to complete and an image they want to show.
